Create custom permission level in SharePoint 2013

In this post we will discuss about how to create a custom permission level in SharePoint 2013. You can also check out eDiscovery in SharePoint 2013, HTML field security option in SharePoint 2013 and OAuth in SharePoint 2013.

Follow below steps to create custom permission level:

Step-1:
From the Top level of site collection go to Site Actions -> Site Settings.
Step-2:
Then from the Users and Permissions group select Site Permissions. This will open the Site Permissions page.

Step-3:
Select Permission Levels from the ribbon.

Step-4:
Select the Contribute permission level. You are redirected to a page containing the various rights and activities allowed within the Contribute permission level.

Step-5:
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Copy Permission Level button. A new blank permission level is created containing the same settings as the Contribute permission level.

Step-6:
Enter My Custom Permission as the name of the custom permission level. And also enter the description for the my custom permission level.

Step-7:
Select or Deselect what ever permission you want to give to the custom permission level.

Step-8:
Now click on Create in the page.
